Trump, Guilty of Fraud? Impossible

There it was on CNN. Breaking news: Donald Trump is guilty of fraud. He is a cheat. A conniver. A liar.  A scammer. A swindler. A trickster. A deceiver. An impostor. A charlatan. A con artist. An embezzler.

But, let’s face it, CNN, is this breaking news—or news at all? Everyone, except for those sad few who have sipped the Kool Aid, has known about this man since… The Art of the Deal. Since The Apprentice. Since Trump University. Since the very first time we ever heard about the duplicitous dealings of this con man.

Over-inflated was the term used to described his assets. And a fitting term it is, as in over-inflated to describe his ego.

But Tues was a special day because a judge finally declared Trump guilty in court. In a case with real consequences, a civil court. Because Donald is not going to jail based on this verdict. We’ll save that for a later day—and be sure, that day will come. But this decision was all about the mighty dollar, something that rules supreme in the Trump mindset.

Fines will follow. Businesses will be sold off and shut down. New York will be a place where the Donald and his business dealings will not be welcomed or allowed. Hopefully he’s been getting advice from Senator Bob Menendez and sewing hundred dollar bills into the lining of his jackets, because after all is said and done, he won’t even be the richest person behind bars.

Will poor innocent Don Jr and Eric have to get real jobs? I hear that Eric is especially good at flipping burgers. And maybe Don Jr can run George Santos’ re-election campaign. Will Melania finally realize that her golden parachute is just a mirage—and dump the guy because the only attachment she had to that loser was from his checkbook to her pocketbook?

For those of us who believe that what goes around comes around, that the world is ultimately an equitable place where people get what they deserve, the fall of the Trump Organization isn’t fake news, it is good news.
