Having mastered time travel, Kruscontrol can now bring you the chronology of a critically important federal project, as reported by the NY Times on April 1, 2036.

On May 4, 2025, it began as a brilliant conception for a new real estate project by that visionary, Donald J Trump.
- Almost as exciting as turning Gaza into the Riviera of the Middle East, Mr. Trump looked out at San Francisco Bay, and said to himself, “We can do this,” directing the Federal Bureau of Prisons to resurrect Alcatraz as an active place of internment. The Rock, completely refurbished with the most modern modes of punishment and torture, would hold no birdmen, only the worst of the worst.
- To quote the words of the greatest President America has ever known, Alcatraz would “house America’s most ruthless and violent offenders,” and serve as a ”symbol of law, order, and justice.”

Within 24 hours on May 5-10, 2025, 38 environmental, prisoners’ rights advocacy, and civil rights groups filed suit to prevent the project from ever beginning.
After drawn out legal battles and multiple appeals, on February 18, 2027, the Supreme Court overturned the ruling of a federal judge, declaring that construction aimed at the re-opening could begin immediately.

On October 10, 2026 Eric and Don Jr hopped on the Alcatraz Ferry with golden shovels in their hands, and dug their shovels into the ground–after 4 tries, the first three hitting only rock. In the spirit of their illustrious father, they announced that Alcatraz will be a symbol to the world of everything that the United States stands for.

On March 31, 2036, after almost 10 years of grueling construction and a cost of 687 million dollars, Alcatraz is officially opened as a prison, reserved for the most despicable and reviled criminals in the US.
