As I write this, Donald Trump is huddling with his chief national security advisors, receiving wisdom from brilliant strategic minds such as Pete Hegseth and Kristi Noem. For heaven’s sake, when Marco Rubio is the most legitimate and experienced voice in the room, we know exactly how low the bar has been set. And although I don’t know the results of their discussions yet, and although I may turn out to be very wrong, let me state here and now my Kruscontrol prediction: The United States will definitely assist Israel in completely dismantling Iran’s nuclear program; US B-2 stealth bombers will carry bunker busting bombs into Tehran and keep hammering away into those underground tunnels until there is nothing left but dust.
How can I know? How can I be so sure? I know because Benjamin Netanyahu can read Donald Trump like a book. I know because in a battle of wits between Netanyahu and Trump, there would be only one person in the room with any wits at all.
But let’s take a step or two back. To begin with, Netanyahu had a set of brilliant military commanders who knew how to design and carry out a grand plan, and he knew his air force could easily evade and overcome whatever remained of the Iranian air defenses. But he also had exquisite intelligence. He knew where the Iranian generals and scientists could be found. And he knew he could erase all those who might have contributed to the building of a defense or a bomb. Without a single boot on the ground, he was able to target people, literally, where they lived.
But all of this would have been for naught unless he could assure, ultimately, that he could get at those deep underground bunkers. If he couldn’t get to those, Iran’s nuclear program would only be set on a short term detour because they still had the goods to build a nuclear bomb.
And there lay Netanyahu’s need as well as his inherent advantage: Only one country could supply the jets and bombs to decimate those bunkers; and only one person could give the okay to finish it all off: that loser Donald J Trump. So while the conquering of Iran’s defenses was Part 1 of the Grand Israeli Plan, setting up Trump was Part 2.
Netanyahu kept Trump informed, but kept him out of things at first. He knew that this knucklehead gambler only bet on sure things, so Bibi let Trump stay in the background initially, while allowing him to become more and more psychologically attached to WINNING, the ultimate bloodthirst of Trump the Bully, as Israel gained an advantage that grew more and more obvious.
And he knew he had him when Trump announced, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran”
WE???? Hmmm. We, as in WE the United States?
Ah, yes, that’s what came out of the mouth of the ultimate bully. WE’ve got them where we want them. And WE will finish it off. WE will blast those bunkers. WE will show the world the strength of the United States. WE won that war, and WE are a country that nobody messes around with.
Music to Bibi’s ears. Let Trump make it all about American strength. Make the world focus on the big bad bully, not the Israelis. The man is both simple and predictable. The perfect foil, he can’t help himself. Bibi played him like a fiddle.
Donald J—thanks for the help. You can take the credit and you can also take the blame. We, Netanyahu says, will simply take the victory.
